This bill would authorize the Department of Veterans Affairs to cover the cost of delivering vehicles to eligible veterans, in addition to the purchase price of the vehicle itself. Currently, the VA can help veterans purchase automobiles and other conveyances, but the law does not explicitly allow the department to pay for shipping and delivery costs. The legislation would remove this limitation by amending existing law to include delivery expenses as a covered benefit. The bill also makes a technical adjustment to the expiration date of certain VA housing loan fees, pushing back the deadline from November 15, 2031 to November 20, 2031. This change affects eligible veterans nationwide who receive VA automobile assistance benefits.
