To amend title III of the Public Health Service Act to specify the duration of contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, or other transactions awarded or entered into with the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, and for other purposes.
Improving Contract Transparency at BARDA Act
This bill establishes a maximum period for a contract between the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) and another entity.
Specifically, BARDA may initially contract with another entity for up to 5 years; initial contracts that are particularly difficult or complex to perform may be for up to 10 years, if determined necessary. Contracts may be renewed for up to five years at a time.
