This bill requires the Department of Defense to launch a pilot program testing artificial intelligence-enabled software to streamline operations at military depots, shipyards, manufacturing facilities, and contract administration offices. The Secretary of Defense must begin the program within 60 days of the bill's enactment and must spend or commit at least $35 million on the initiative. The software selected must represent industry best practices, be designed with human-centered principles, and connect to existing Defense Department data systems. Within one year of starting the program, the Secretary must report to Congress with detailed evaluations of the software platforms tested, how operations changed as a result, and measurable data showing the software's impact at each location where it was deployed.
