The PACE Anytime Act allows eligible seniors to enroll in the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly at any time during a month, rather than being restricted to specific enrollment periods. Currently, PACE enrollment must begin on the first day of a month, but this bill would allow enrollment effective dates whenever a provider receives a signed enrollment agreement. For seniors who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid, enrollment in states that allow anytime enrollment would be permitted once the state makes an election to participate in this option. The bill also requires that Medicare and Medicaid payments to PACE providers be prorated for the first month when an individual enrolls mid-month, ensuring providers are only paid for the portion of the month the beneficiary is enrolled. These changes take effect on January 1, 2025.
