This bill directs the Director of National Intelligence to declassify information related to the July 2024 assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. The declassification must cover details about the shooter's identity and motives, requests for protective resources, Secret Service preparations and response, and the FBI investigation. The Director, working with the Department of Homeland Security, the Attorney General, and other officials, must submit an unclassified report to Congress containing all relevant information with only minimal redactions needed to protect intelligence sources and methods. Within 30 days of receiving this report, the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community must assess whether the Director complied with the declassification requirements. The bill establishes Congressional oversight of this security failure and aims to provide transparency to both Congress and the public about the incident.
