Highlight any text to annotate
This bill would significantly increase the National Labor Relations Board's dollar thresholds for deciding whether to oversee labor disputes involving small businesses. Currently, the NLRB uses certain revenue thresholds to determine which employer disputes fall under its jurisdiction, but this bill would raise those thresholds by ten times their current levels starting in 2024. For subsequent years, the thresholds would adjust annually based on inflation using the Personal Consumption Expenditure Per Capita Index published by the Department of Commerce. The changes would primarily benefit small business owners by reducing NLRB oversight of their labor disputes, as companies with revenues below the new thresholds would no longer fall under the board's jurisdiction. The bill takes effect immediately upon enactment for any future NLRB decisions regarding labor dispute jurisdiction.
