The Stand Strong Falls Prevention Act amends the Older Americans Act to establish a new Advisory Committee on Falls Prevention within the federal government to coordinate efforts across multiple agencies in addressing falls among older adults. The committee, made up of representatives from 15 federal agencies and 12 outside experts including healthcare providers, researchers, caregivers, and aging service providers, will develop a national falls prevention plan, assess federal programs, and make recommendations for improvement. Within one year of being fully appointed, the advisory committee must deliver an initial report to Congress evaluating all federally funded falls prevention efforts and recommend whether Medicare should pilot programs covering home modifications and evidence-based falls prevention services for at least 20,000 beneficiaries. The Assistant Secretary must then submit regular reports to Congress every four years evaluating progress and recommending strategies to reduce falls' financial impact on Medicare and Medicaid. The legislation authorizes necessary funding through fiscal year 2029 and establishes the advisory committee for ten years from its initial appointment.
