This bill directs the Secretary of Defense to study whether the military has enough air and missile defense capabilities to protect U.S. military bases and troops stationed in Europe and the Indo-Pacific region from attacks by hypersonic missiles, ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and aircraft. The study will assess current defenses and determine what additional forces, systems, and capabilities may be needed. By June 30, 2024, the Secretary must submit a detailed report to Congress that includes a specific plan for maintaining adequate defense capabilities through 2030. The report will be made public in unclassified form, though it may include classified details in a separate annex, with an unclassified summary posted on the Department of Defense website within 14 days of submission.
