The Pediatric Network Support Act would establish a federal Pediatric Research Site Network to improve how medical products are tested and developed for children. The bill authorizes the Secretary of Health and Human Services to award grants to universities and nonprofit organizations that have expertise in biomedical research, allowing these entities to collaborate on developing guidance, educational materials, and best practices for pediatric clinical trials. The network would focus on enhancing study design, identifying research challenges, improving product labeling and safety, and accelerating the development of drugs, biological products, and medical devices for pediatric use. The legislation authorizes two million dollars annually for fiscal years 2024 through 2029 to fund the program. The Secretary would be required to report annually to Congress on the network's operations and activities.
