To prove eligibility, applicants can provide various forms of evidence such as utility bills, pay stubs, school records, or other documents showing they occupied the property, without needing to get documents notarized. FEMA must create a simple self-certification form within 30 days and make it available in multiple languages at disaster recovery centers, with applicants given at least 180 days to appeal previous denied claims. The bill also requires FEMA and the Department of Housing and Urban Development to work together within 60 days of any future disaster declaration to coordinate temporary rental assistance programs for displaced residents.
