This bill establishes the Justice Thurgood Marshall National Historic Site in Baltimore, Maryland as an affiliated area of the National Park System. The site will be centered on Public School 103, where Justice Marshall attended elementary school, and will be owned and operated by the Beloved Community Services Corporation, a nonprofit organization that has already restored the historic building. The National Park Service previously completed a study confirming the school's national significance and suitability for the park system. The legislation authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to provide technical assistance and enter into cooperative agreements to help with funding, marketing, and preservation of the site, but the federal government will not acquire the property or assume primary financial responsibility for its operations. The bill authorizes whatever funding is necessary to carry out these provisions.
