This bill directs the U.S. Department of Agriculture to officially designate the Guam and Western Pacific USDA Rural Development office as the primary representative for the agency's rural development programs across Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, the Marshall Islands, Palau, and the Federated States of Micronesia. The Secretary of Agriculture and the Undersecretary for Rural Development must complete this designation within 90 days of the bill becoming law. Once designated, this office would have the same rights and responsibilities as USDA Rural Development offices in U.S. states, giving these Pacific island territories and freely associated states more direct access to federal rural development resources and programs.
