This bill creates a new Cybersecurity Risk Inventory, Assessment, and Mitigation Working Group within the National Nuclear Security Administration, the federal agency responsible for nuclear weapons security and maintenance. The working group will be led by senior officials and tasked with developing a comprehensive strategy to identify, evaluate, and address cybersecurity risks across the agency's nuclear weapons systems and information technology networks. The strategy must include specific goals, organizational responsibilities, required resources for the next ten years, and detailed timelines for completing security improvements. The working group must brief Congress within 120 days of the bill's enactment on its plan to develop the strategy and must submit the completed strategy by April 1, 2025. The working group will automatically dissolve five years after the bill becomes law unless Congress extends it.
