The PROTECT Florida Act extends and expands the federal moratorium on oil and gas drilling off Florida's coast. The bill extends the existing Gulf of Mexico moratorium from 2022 to 2032 and establishes a new moratorium on the Atlantic coast off Florida (in the Straits of Florida and South Atlantic Planning Area) that runs through June 30, 2029.
