This bill directs the Secretary of Defense to establish a working group within 90 days to coordinate artificial intelligence development and sharing among the Five Eyes countries (the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand). The working group will compare AI systems and practices across these nations, develop shared strategies for AI research and deployment, test AI interoperability for intelligence and military operations, and identify best practices for procurement and adoption of AI technologies. The bill requires the Defense Secretary to submit a detailed plan to Congress within 60 days and provide biannual progress reports on the working group's activities and milestones. The working group is scheduled to terminate on September 30, 2028, unless the Defense Secretary extends it based on national security needs, and each country will maintain control over its own knowledge and technical data developed through the collaboration.
