To require The Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration to notify the public of any proposed new PBN flight procedure, and for other purposes.
The NOTIFIED Act requires the Federal Aviation Administration to notify the public, local officials, and Congress members when proposing new or modified flight procedures affecting airspace below 18,000 feet. The notification must be provided within 30 days to elected officials and any Aviation Roundtables in cities and counties within 5 miles of the affected airspace and must include specific details such as the flight path mapped with latitude and longitude coordinates, altitude information, the name of the procedure and its proponent, and a contact person for questions. This bill aims to give communities and their representatives advance notice and information about proposed changes to flight routes so they can provide input before procedures are finalized. The legislation does not include any new federal funding or specific implementation timeline beyond the 30-day notification requirement. The bill was introduced in December 2023 and referred to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
