This bill establishes a nine-member Commission to Study Acts of Antisemitism in the United States to investigate the rise in antisemitic incidents and activities in the country. The commission will examine the sources and manifestations of antisemitism, review government and nonprofit responses to combating it, and make recommendations to Congress and the President within one year of its creation. The bill was introduced in response to a significant increase in antisemitic incidents reported since October 2023, including threats, violence, and protests. Commission members will be appointed by congressional leaders and the President within 10 days of the bill's enactment and must have expertise in addressing antisemitism, with compensation limited to the daily rate for executive level positions. The commission will have the power to hold hearings, subpoena witnesses, and access federal agency information, and will terminate 120 days after submitting its final report to Congress.
