The City of Ridgecrest Land Exchange Act authorizes a land swap between the City of Ridgecrest, California and the federal government, involving approximately 500 acres of federal Bureau of Land Management land going to the city in exchange for roughly 640 acres of non-federal land going to the government. The Secretary of the Interior must complete the exchange within one year of receiving the city's offer and has the flexibility to make minor boundary adjustments by mutual agreement. The city is responsible for paying the reasonable costs of the survey and any environmental analysis or administrative expenses related to the transaction. The federal land acquired by the government becomes part of the Owens Peak Wilderness Area, while utility easements and rights-of-way on all exchanged lands remain in effect, and the city must maintain access to officially designated motorized routes and non-motorized recreation areas on the federal land it receives. The bill also prohibits gaming on the transferred federal land.
