The bill includes a provision requiring the Secretary of Health and Human Services to study and report to Congress by June 30, 2026 on how eliminating this cost-sharing affected patient health outcomes and whether it resulted in any cost savings to the Medicare program. The cost-sharing elimination is temporary, set to expire on December 31, 2025, unless Congress takes further action.
