Upon enactment, the tribe and its members become eligible for all federal services and benefits provided to Native Americans and federally recognized tribes, with the service area defined as Los Angeles County. The bill requires the Department of the Interior to acquire up to 300 acres of land in trust for the tribe within ninety days and allows the tribe to manage its own membership roll according to its constitution. The legislation does not diminish any existing rights the tribe previously held and preserves any legal claims the tribe may pursue regarding rights wrongfully denied in the past.
