This bill allows the Transportation Secretary to approve federal funding for security improvements in airport parking lots that generate revenue. The approved security measures include closed-circuit cameras, physical barriers, alarm systems, and analytical tools developed with law enforcement to track criminal activity, as well as other security measures the Secretary deems appropriate. The authority to fund these parking lot security projects is temporary, expiring on December 31, 2025. By that same date, the Comptroller General must report to Congress on how these federal funds were used and recommend any necessary updates to the airport improvement program.
