The Reimagining Inclusive Arts Education Act authorizes the Department of Education to award competitive grants to schools, school districts, and partnerships to improve how arts education serves children with disabilities. Grant recipients would use funding to develop professional training programs for arts teachers and creative arts therapists, create inclusive curricula, and adapt classroom materials to accommodate students with disabilities. Eligible applicants include local and state education agencies, as well as partnerships between schools and colleges or nonprofit organizations. Grants would last up to three years with a possible two-year renewal for successful programs, with priority given to schools serving lower-income communities. The bill authorizes $15 million in total funding across fiscal years 2025 through 2029.
