This bill requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to submit annual performance plans for all VA political appointees to Congress within 30 days of completing each review. Currently, the VA creates these performance evaluations for its political staff but does not share them with the congressional committees that oversee the department. The legislation would increase transparency and congressional oversight by making these performance documents publicly available to the Senate and House Veterans' Affairs Committees. The bill does not authorize any new funding and would take effect immediately upon passage. This disclosure requirement would apply to all future annual performance reviews of VA political appointees going forward.
