Grant funds would support establishing or expanding child care programs, contracting with local child care providers, and offering related services like transportation and nutrition assistance to help student parents stay enrolled and complete their studies. Institutions receiving grants would be required to report annually on program outcomes, including the number of student parents served, their enrollment status, graduation rates, and completion data. The legislation includes priority considerations for programs that use sliding fee scales, leverage non-Federal resources, coordinate with community programs, and integrate services with early childhood education courses that may provide academic credit to participating students.
