The Table Rock Lake Property Flexibility Act would allow owners of property adjacent to Table Rock Lake in Missouri and Arkansas to request that the Army Corps of Engineers either sell them or lease them nearby federal land that was originally acquired for the lake project. Property owners would pay up to 150 percent of the fair market value for conveyances or leases, and the government cannot require them to remove existing structures or prevent them from adding new ones on leased land. Revenue generated from lease agreements must be used for recreational infrastructure and maintenance at the lake. The bill also clarifies that property owners can modify docks on the lake to improve accessibility for people with disabilities without government prohibition. After a conveyance, the property owner assumes liability for future activities on the land, though the government remains responsible for any pre-conveyance liabilities.
