The bill also mandates a feasibility study to evaluate the benefits of establishing defense industrial agreements with Taiwan, including examining how such partnerships could improve supply chain security, mutual defense support, and military interoperability. The study must identify at least five defense capabilities either developed in Taiwan that need expedited U.S. component licenses or technologies the U.S. defense industry cannot produce quickly enough to meet Taiwan's needs. The Defense Secretary must deliver the completed study report to Congress within 180 days of the bill's enactment, with no specific funding amount specified in the legislation.
