The Recruiters on Campus Act requires school districts that receive federal education funding to give military recruiters the same campus access for recruitment purposes as they provide to other employers, colleges, and recruiters. The bill specifically requires schools to allow military recruiters to access secondary school campuses to recruit students who are at least 17 years old. The legislation becomes effective one year after enactment, giving schools time to implement the new requirements. The Secretary of Defense must annually collect information from military recruiters about school district compliance and submit a report to the Secretary of Education identifying any districts that violate the requirement, along with explanations for the violations.
