This bill requires organizations applying for federal grants to certify that they have not violated and will not violate federal laws against smuggling or harboring undocumented immigrants. Organizations would need to declare compliance with these immigration laws for the previous 10 years and for the duration of any grant they receive. Federal agencies can withhold grant funds from organizations found to be in violation, based on information from the Department of Homeland Security, employee convictions, or other credible evidence. The Attorney General must notify the Office of Management and Budget within 90 days of any conviction or admission related to these immigration violations. This legislation applies to all federal grant recipients across government agencies and is intended to ensure that taxpayer funding does not support organizations engaged in immigration-related crimes.
