The Diverse Cybersecurity Workforce Act of 2024 directs the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to create a new program within six months that promotes cybersecurity careers to underrepresented groups, including racial and ethnic minorities, women, people with disabilities, veterans, formerly incarcerated individuals, people from rural areas, and those over age 40. The program will conduct outreach to schools, community colleges, unions, workforce development offices, and businesses to raise awareness about cybersecurity job opportunities and tailor recruitment efforts to different regions and industries across the country. The legislation authorizes $20 million in annual funding from 2025 through 2030 to support these efforts. The agency must submit annual reports to Congress detailing how the program is affecting the diversity of the cybersecurity workforce and recommending improvements.
