On law enforcement, the bill authorizes up to $10 million annually through fiscal year 2028 for the State Department to provide training, technical assistance, and capacity-building to Brazilian agencies to combat transnational criminal networks, trace criminal proceeds, and support asset recovery, while the U.S. Agency for International Development would provide financial assistance for sustainable livelihoods and indigenous rights protection in the region. The bill also requires the State Department to submit reports within 180 days and annually thereafter for five years on progress in these efforts, as well as a report identifying illegal commodities entering U.S. markets from the Amazon, China's role in facilitating illegal resource extraction, and Brazil's own efforts to combat these crimes.
