This bill establishes a new monthly incentive pay program for military members who perform explosive ordnance disposal duty, which involves detecting and neutralizing bombs and other dangerous weapons. The pay applies to regular members of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Space Force who hold an explosive ordnance disposal designation and perform this duty as part of their career. The monthly rates range from $125 for those with two or fewer years of experience up to $1,000 for those with more than ten years of service, with variations at higher experience levels. Reserve component members performing this duty under orders would receive a daily rate equal to one-thirtieth of the applicable monthly rate. The bill takes effect six months after enactment and applies to explosive ordnance disposal duty performed on or after that date.
