Additionally, when interviews are still required, states must offer recipients multiple options for how to participate, including in-person, by phone, virtually, or through other methods that minimize administrative hassle. The changes take effect 180 days after the bill becomes law and primarily affect state agencies administering SNAP and the low-income individuals who receive these food assistance benefits.
