The Presidential Library Donation Reform Act of 2024 requires fundraising organizations for presidential libraries to publicly disclose information about donors who contribute $200 or more in a given quarter. These organizations must submit detailed donor information to the National Archivist within 15 days after each quarter ends, including the donation amount, donor name and address, and the donor's occupation if an individual. The National Archives and Records Administration would then publish this information on its website within 30 days in a searchable, downloadable database at no cost to the public. The reporting requirement continues until either the presidential library facility is accepted and established or the former president leaves office. The bill establishes penalties for knowingly submitting false information, omitting material information, or making contributions in someone else's name, with violations subject to federal criminal penalties similar to those in election law. No additional funding is authorized for implementation, as agencies must carry out these requirements with existing resources.
