This bill grants permanent residency status to an individual named Gualterio Santos, allowing him to become a lawful permanent resident of the United States. The legislation waives standard immigration requirements and removes any grounds for his removal or deportation that may exist in Department of Homeland Security or State Department records, and it requires that any outstanding deportation orders against him be rescinded. Santos must file his application for permanent residency within two years of the bill's enactment or he loses these benefits. When Santos receives permanent residency, the State Department will reduce by one the total number of immigrant visas available to natives of his birth country in that fiscal year to account for his admission. The bill also prevents Santos's immediate family members from receiving any special immigration benefits based on their relationship to him.
