This bill requires the Department of Defense to develop and provide distance education courses on artificial intelligence and machine learning to all military personnel and civilian employees. The courses must cover foundational AI concepts, ethical and responsible AI use, data protection, and how to identify AI-generated content and misinformation. The Defense Department has 180 days to create these courses and ensure all military branches make them available to their personnel, with a progress report due within 270 days. Additionally, the bill directs the Pentagon to expand its existing Digital On-Demand Program to reach all Defense Department organizations and personnel, and to integrate information about AI risks and threats into annual cybersecurity training. The Pentagon must submit annual reports on its progress expanding the Digital On-Demand Program through 2029.
