The Jimmy Deal Trafficking Survivors Assistance Act of 2026 helps human trafficking survivors who lack government identification access air travel by establishing support services at airports nationwide. The bill requires the Transportation Security Administration to designate a "Trafficking Survivor Point of Contact" at each airport to assist survivors and coordinate with nonprofit service providers, with these positions to be filled within one year of the law's enactment. The designated TSA employees will receive training on human trafficking and trauma-informed care, help survivors navigate security screening, and waive identity verification fees for eligible trafficking survivors. Service providers working with survivors must register with the TSA Cares program at least 30 days before requesting travel assistance and must arrange for the survivor to be met at their destination airport. The law applies to survivors of all ages, with special protections for minors to ensure they are properly received by authorized adults at their destination.
