This bill amends federal water resources law to expand the types of Great Lakes restoration projects that the Army Corps of Engineers can undertake. Currently, the Department of the Army has restrictions on which fishery and ecosystem restoration projects it can fund in the Great Lakes region. The legislation removes some of these restrictions to allow the Secretary of the Army to carry out additional projects that don't qualify under existing policy. The bill caps Federal spending for any individual project at $20 million. The measure was introduced in September 2026 and referred to the House Committees on Transportation and Infrastructure and Natural Resources for consideration.
