This bill, named Kylie's Voices for Childhood Cancer Act, makes changes to how childhood cancer is addressed within the nation's cancer control programs. It requires that State comprehensive cancer control coalitions include at least two pediatric cancer experts as members when they receive federal funding. The bill also directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to create a new advisory committee composed of representatives from major health agencies, nonprofit cancer organizations, pediatric cancer experts, survivors, and caregivers. This advisory committee will develop best practices and recommendations for addressing childhood cancer in State cancer control plans, meet annually with state representatives to share successful implementation models, and submit a report to Congress within two years of its first meeting before automatically ending. Additionally, the bill allows States to use Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant funds to support pediatric cancer initiatives and implement the advisory committee's recommendations.
