The Water Intelligence, Security, and Cyber Threat Protection Act of 2025 directs the Environmental Protection Agency to establish a program aimed at strengthening drinking water and wastewater systems against cyber attacks, terrorism, and natural disasters. The program will encourage water utilities to join and participate in the Water Information Sharing and Analysis Center, a collaborative network for sharing threat information, and will provide funding to offset the costs of membership for smaller systems. The EPA will also work to expand data collection and analysis of water sector threats and improve the tools and resources available to water systems for identifying and responding to security risks. The legislation authorizes $10 million in funding for each of fiscal years 2026 and 2027 to support these efforts, which must begin within one year of the bill's enactment.
