The IVF for Military Families Act expands healthcare benefits for active-duty military members and their dependents by requiring fertility treatment coverage under TRICARE, the military's health insurance program. The bill covers a broad range of fertility services including in vitro fertilization (limited to three completed egg retrievals per person, with unlimited embryo transfers), sperm and egg retrieval, embryo preservation, artificial insemination, and related medications and coordination services. The legislation also requires the Department of Defense to establish a program to coordinate fertility care and train civilian healthcare providers to better serve military families. These benefits become effective October 1, 2027, giving the Department of Defense time to implement the coverage requirements and establish coordination systems.
