S. 1274, the Protecting American Households From Rising Energy Costs Act of 2025, prohibits U.S. companies from exporting liquefied natural gas and petroleum products to China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, and any entities controlled by these countries, with the stated goal of keeping more energy supplies available domestically to help lower American energy costs. The bill applies to all exporters and resellers, whether they sell directly or indirectly through intermediaries, and makes the export authorization holder responsible for compliance.
