Referred to the Committee on Natural Resources, and in addition to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
H.R. 1304 extends and modifies the Delaware River Basin conservation program, which funds water infrastructure and environmental restoration projects in the region. The bill expands the program to include Maryland as a fifth state participant alongside Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. It authorizes funding to continue through 2032 (previously set to expire in 2023) and allows the federal government to prioritize grants for projects serving small, rural, or disadvantaged communities. The legislation is sponsored by a bipartisan group of representatives from the affected states and has been referred to the House Committees on Natural Resources and Transportation and Infrastructure for consideration.
