This resolution designates the week of April 21-25, 2025, as "National Home Visiting Week" to recognize programs that send trained professionals to visit families with young children in their homes. Home visiting programs serve parents and children by providing support, education, and resources to promote healthy child development, strengthen family relationships, and reduce the risk of abuse and neglect. In fiscal year 2023, these evidence-based programs operated in all 50 states, Washington D.C., five territories, and 21 Indigenous communities, serving over 139,000 parents and children through more than 919,000 home visits. The resolution highlights that more than 280,000 families received these services nationwide in 2023, delivered by over 20,000 trained home visitors and supervisors. The designation aims to raise awareness about the importance of early childhood support and the role home visiting programs play in helping families provide children with a strong foundation for healthy development.
