The Veterans Fellowship Act directs the Department of Labor to establish a pilot program offering short-term fellowships to veterans in partnership with private employers. Under the program, between three and five states will be selected to participate, with each state working alongside a nonprofit organization to place veterans as fellows with employers for up to 20 weeks. During their fellowship period, veterans will receive a monthly stipend and have the opportunity to transition into permanent employment with their host employer. The bill authorizes $10 million per year for fiscal years 2025 through 2029 to fund the pilot program. The Government Accountability Office will evaluate the program's effectiveness and submit a report to Congress within four years of its launch.
