The FLRAA Production Acceleration Act of 2025 authorizes the Army Secretary to begin early production of up to 24 Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (a military tiltrotor helicopter) before the aircraft completes full testing and enters standard production. The bill aims to speed up delivery of this aircraft to the military, maintain workforce continuity at manufacturers and suppliers, stabilize costs, and keep skilled workers and production facilities in states like Texas and Kansas employed during the gap between testing and full manufacturing. The Army must prioritize cost-efficiency and incorporate lessons learned from testing into the early aircraft produced. Within 180 days, the Secretary must report to Congress on the implementation plan, the readiness of manufacturers and suppliers to support this effort, and estimated cost savings and operational benefits from moving ahead with early production.
