The bill also authorizes an additional $3 billion from fiscal years 2027 through 2031 for community wildfire defense grants, increases funding for collaborative forest restoration efforts to $100 million annually starting in 2026, and establishes a County Stewardship Fund to distribute 25 percent of revenues from forest product sales back to counties where work occurs. The $30 billion in mandatory funding becomes available October 1 following enactment, with up to 10 percent allowed for administrative and planning costs.
