The Promoting Physical Activity for Americans Act directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to publish comprehensive physical activity recommendations for Americans by December 31, 2029, and then update those recommendations at least every 10 years thereafter. The recommendations must be based on current scientific evidence and include tailored guidance for specific populations such as children and people with disabilities. Federal agencies that develop their own physical activity recommendations should consider the guidance in these reports when establishing their own health programs. The bill does not establish any binding fitness standards for individuals, and it does not limit other federal agencies' ability to conduct health research or communicate their own scientific findings on the topic.
