S.Con.Res. 24
S. Con. Res. 24 is a symbolic resolution recognizing the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Accords, the 1995 agreement that ended the Bosnian War. The resolution honors the diplomatic negotiations that took place at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, and acknowledges the NATO-led military intervention that helped bring the parties to the table. The measure reaffirms U.S. support for Bosnia and Herzegovina's sovereignty, democracy, and human rights, and encourages the country to continue pursuing constitutional reforms needed for membership in NATO and the European Union. It also commends the Bosnian-American diaspora of approximately 350,000 people living in the United States and recognizes Dayton's role in fostering peace. As a concurrent resolution, this measure expresses the sense of Congress but does not create law, require funding, or have a specific implementation timeline.
