This bill requires comprehensive security audits of federal computer systems that were accessed by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and related teams established under a presidential executive order. Within 30 days of the bill's enactment, the DOGE Service must provide Congress and the Government Accountability Office with a full accounting of which federal agencies they accessed and what systems they touched. The GAO then has 60 days to launch detailed audits focusing first on the Social Security Administration, Department of Health and Human Services, and the Internal Revenue Service, with results due within one year for those priority agencies and two years for others. Any security vulnerabilities or bugs found must be fixed by agency heads within 90 days, with progress reports submitted to Congress. The bill essentially serves as an oversight mechanism to ensure that DOGE's government efficiency work did not inadvertently create cybersecurity risks in critical federal systems.
