The IEIS Act requires immigration enforcement officers from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and related agencies to visibly display their last name, a unique identifier, their agency name, and their face while conducting public immigration enforcement activities such as patrols, stops, arrests, and raids. The bill includes exceptions for undercover operations, high-risk tactical situations, and circumstances requiring face coverings for safety reasons. Additionally, the legislation allows federal agencies to reimburse immigration officers and their immediate family members for up to 100 percent of costs related to privacy-enhancing services and data protection tools, using funds from fiscal year 2026 onward. The bill aims to increase transparency and accountability in immigration enforcement while protecting officer safety and privacy. It was introduced in July 2025 and referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
